Colleyville Texas Real Estate and City Information:
This material is quoted from the Colleyville Texas Chamber of Commerce Website:
To the average person, Colleyville appears to be no more than thirty years old. In reality, this land
has boasted of families, businesses and community leaders for over 150 years; each generation living,
laughing and loving its atmosphere of beauty and grace. As settlers moved into the Colleyville area in the
mid 1800's, small communities sprang up, usually centered around a church, school or lodge. At one time,
Colleyville was comprised of five separate communities. Although time has obscured many of the names and
words of the original homesteaders, a commemorative marker on the south side of Highway 26 honors them.
"Colleyville" first applied to a small crossroads town on the main road between Fort Worth and Grapevine.
Primarily known as a farming community, the region was recognized for cantaloupes, watermelons, tomatoes
and squash. Incorporated as a village in January 1956, the city began with an area of less than two square
miles and a population of roughly 250. Colleyville celebrates more than 40 years of incorporation with a
population exceeding 19,000 and covering 12 square miles. Roger Judkins is one of the most experienced Colleyville Texas Real Estate Brokers.

Keller, Texas is recognized as one of the leading communities and most desirable places in
Northeast Tarrant County to live and raise a family. As the area grows, closely managed development continues to ensure
that Keller will retain its open space atmosphere while still providing the amenities that so many
homebuyers seek. Quality Keller Texas home sites,
situated among open green spaces and an abundance of trees, and an
outstanding Keller Independent School District, make Keller the "destination of choice" for people relocating to the area.
The City of Keller continues to be be one of the fastest growing communities in Northeast Tarrant County
evidenced by the 2000 Census, which indicated a 99.8 percent population growth during the 1990's. The 2003
population estimate for Keller is approximately 32,000 residents.
Keller's outstanding park and recreation system provides a variety of leisure activities for residents.
Citizen surveys, completed periodically by the City, have continued to emphasize citizen interest in having
large open green spaces and park facilities. The half-cent sales tax for Parks and Recreation facilities
has allowed Keller to implement a park and open space master plan. Walking trails, currently linking
many neighborhoods with the park system, are being expanded to link all parts of the City over time.
The Keller Sports Park provides many sporting activities, and is a thriving youth and adult recreation
complex. Adding to the already outstanding recreational facilities, a new recreation and aquatic center,
including indoor and outdoor leisure water; an aerobics/dance room; a babysitting room; multi-purpose rooms;
and many more amenities will open in May of 2004. Events, such as Keller's 'Concerts in the Park." "Wild,
Wild West Fest," and "Holly Days in the Park," draw people to Keller fromall over the Dallas-Fort Worth
Metroplex.
Public safety services, including police, fire emergency medical service, and emergency management service,
are provided by the City of Keller. A Crime Control and Prevention District provides funding for enhanced
police services. The Keller Police Department is committed to the highest level of neighborhood policing
and service to our residents. Through an extensive informational e-mail program, the police department

The City Council has been committed to providing services and amenities that residents desire. Through
prudent financial management, the City Council has reduced the City's tax rate each year for the past
seven years. Low taxes remain a high priority of the City Council. In an effort to take the tax burden
off homeowners, Keller created an aggressive Economic Development Strategy in 1994. Keller's Economic
Development Director and the Keller Economic Development Board have successfully brought preferred
commercial development to Keller, and their efforts continue. In 2002, approximately 997,000 square feet,
totaling, $51,250,131 in construction value, of new business development occurred.
Keller's Town Center, currently under development, is an example of upscale shopping and dining, which the
Economic Development Strategy seeks. Mixed with office, retail, municipal facilities, and residential
communities, this pedestrian-friendly urban center is home to Keller's Town Hall and the Keller Independent
School District's Natatorium. This unique "downtown" design blends into a park setting that covers over
two-thirds of the Town Center site. Green space, lakes, walking paths, trails, and an amphitheater for
outdoor events dominate this beautiful area. The new recreation and aquatic center will also be located in
this Town Center park setting, thus adding to the growing list of amenities in this rapidly developing hub
of community activity and commercial development.
Well-designed thoroughfares make commuting easy, and provide linkages with freeways and interstate highways
connecting the City to Metroplex job centers. The City's trail system that winds through the parks and
neighborhoods creates an enjoyable venue for pedestrians to walk, jog, skate, cycle or travel from one area
in the community to another, and provides connectivity to many school district facilities.

golfer, the privately owned world-class Sky Creek Ranch Golf Course is located in the Hidden
